- They don't last nearly as long as the Black & Decker discs. I purchased these 5 inch 40 grit eight hole sanding discs because it appears to be a good buy. There are three problems with these discs.1. It's kind of cool if you're playing games to see how far you can "frisbee" them, but they're basically useless as a sanding accesory.I would recommend you avoid Porter-Cable sanding discs like this if you are looking for some.
It was an effort in frustration using these things. The Black & Decker dics I literally had to pry off the sander, but these things would fly off across my yard all on their own. I went through 16 of these discs to do the amount of sanding I did previously with only 3 of the Black & Decker discs. After only a few seconds up to a few minutes, these discs would simply "fly off" the sander and you can't re-use them.
I did a lot of sanding on my deck using Black & Decker 40 grit sanding discs and then ran out. - The felt backing on these do NOT keep the disc attached to the velcro surface of the sander. I used them on the Skill 2.6 amp sander. The sanding surface would rub off very quickly when compared to the Black & Decker dics.3.
They definately tore up the wood more than the Black & Decker.2. - They seem to be rougher than 40 grit. I used these Porter-Cable discs after they arrived at my house.
